Winter is coming, but first shows off its magic tricks. A hard frost freezes the lake before snowfall. A magical world is created overnight on the lake, to the delight of all.

Long before life’s first cells divided, the rock here flowed like the water that now frames it. Molten veins of colour swirled and mixed in the ancient Canadian shield, long frozen in time.

The sun is low in the sky, the air burns as you breathe it in. The falls are obscured in mist, but create strange and fragile shapes out of the surrounding landscape.

The BC forest in the fall is a magic place, with the cool of the air under the trees competing with the still-strong sun. The moistness in the air refreshes after a hot, dry summer. A quiet trickle can be heard from what’s left of a once-tumbling creek.
